Minor: Sexism
Rigid gender roles for magic are established in this world where wizards are supposed to be men and witches are supposed to be women. So the main character, a girl destined to be a wizard at birth, has experiences of doubt and humility in trying to prove herself to both a witch and wizards as someone deserving to learn how to be a proper wizard. But these sexist veiled comments are humorously presented where Pratchett does a good job of making it clear how absurd these perceptions are. These rigid gender roles are also challenged and in the process of changing by the end of the book because of events that happened with the main character's involvement.
