The Fifth Season by N.K. Jemisin

5.0

I have never felt more inclined to read the second book in a series than I do now having just finished the fifth season. That ending was an absolute roller coaster and I genuinely NEED to know what happens next. Cant wait to read the second. Besides the ending of the book I also really liked the first third of the book. N.K Jemison’s writing style is probably the best I’ve witnessed so far and I think it really shined in the beginning of the book. I didn’t think I would be a fan of second perspective but it was absolutely amazing the way she executed it. The middle of the book was boring for me & if it weren’t for Jemison’s phenomenal writing, I could care less about the story’s plot. Just not a huge fan of this type of sci-fi fantasy (reminded me of divergent, but not in a good way). But as I said, the writing was just too good for my complaints to stop me from giving this book 5 stars. Plot twists were amazing, characters were extremely interesting and I can’t wait to read more of Jemison’s work.
