The Crowns of Croswald
by D.E. Night
To start off, let me say that I find the writing quirky, but that is not a bad thing. Most of the time it lends itself well to the story, but it did sometimes make things almost confusing. The book is a quick, easy read; it's a nice book if you want to just sit down and finish it in an afternoon. The main character seems to have a permanent case of wrong place, wrong time, but it's not overdone. I enjoy following Ivy on her unusual adventure. The magic system is unusual and seems a little all over the place at first, but once you learn enough of it, it's easy to follow.
All in all, I enjoyed the book and look forward to reading the rest of the series.
