I wanted to love this book. And I do love the story... but I found the writing difficult to get through. Reading it felt like taking my medicine: I knew it was good for me, but man. Hard to get through! Ex: the author must use the phrase "the Thurgood Marshall of the women's movement" to describe Justice Ginsberg at least ten times. We get it.

That being said, I'm glad I read it. The stories about both Justices O'Connor and Ginsberg to ascend to the position of power, and then the struggles once there, are astounding and profoundly moving. I had always had mixed feelings about O'Connor (and I still do), but the stories here help me understand and appreciate her more.

And what can I say about Notorious RBG? I admit that prior to reading, I liked her a lot. Now I'm a bit of a fangirl. She's a beast.
