If you are reading reviews wondering if you should DNF this book, the answer is Yes
Warning: cliffhanger ending and another book to come.
Not gonna lie, this was hard to get through. I think 300 pages could have been omitted and that’s not even an exaggeration. This was so slow and so repetitive. The plot essentially went nowhere until the last 10%. This book had no business being this long for what little growth it had in it. The plot was all over the place. The characters were all over the place.
I liked the ending, but I don’t know if I’ll be able to read the next book if it’s anything like this one. I’ll probably end up reading a summary of the next book once it comes out because this was a STRUGGLE. I listened at 2.7x speed just to get through it.
ALSO, this should have been a trilogy.
I do not recommend this book, even if you loved the first two.
If you loved the first one and didn’t really care for the second one, like me, then don’t waste your time on this. Trust me. Hopefully the next one will be better. Nothing on the author. I enjoy the story, but I don’t want to have to force myself not to DNF a book while I’m reading it because it’s so slow and not progressing at all.
- Can we please talk about how Nick and Bree said they didn’t know the identities of the people that attacked them in their hotel room? Because they literally knocked them out and moved their bodies and they could have just lifted up their masks and seen their identities.
- why was the crown bought for millions/billions of dollars and then just left in the basement free for the taking?
- Also are they not gonna discuss or talk about the crown literally in Nick’s chest? Like we need more info on that.
- so much of this book left out important details and was way too wordy on literally nothing. A whole lot of words saying nothing and going nowhere.
