Sleep Like Death by Kalynn Bayron

4.0

When I was little, Snow White was my favorite Disney princess, so I was thrilled to be an ARC reader for this latest Snow White retelling. And wow, it blew me away!

This isn’t your typical Snow White story. The queendom is ruled by queer queens, the hunter is a woman, the man in the mirror isn’t the wicked face we remember, the dwarves aren’t actually dwarves, and Snow White? She’s Black and has magical powers !

This has quickly become one of my favorite retellings. The story is fast-paced, and you’ll feel the urge to finish it in one sitting because it’s that gripping and keeps you on the edge till the end. Nova is my favorite character, and I can’t even talk about him without giving away spoilers!

If you’re into fantasy, fairytale retellings, and strong female main characters, this book is a must-read!
