I think this would’ve been much better as a short story. The concept is really the only interesting thing about it and you can have the same effect without it being a full novel. Either that, or make it longer with a more in-depth look at the world and especially the politics of it. I think it’s weak as horror, but interesting as social commentary. Also the “twist” ending I saw everyone talking about was probably the most predictable ending the book could’ve had. I was disappointed honestly, the concept had a lot of potential to do a lot of things, but I felt it fell flat. Texas Chainsaw Massacre did it better. :/
