The Demon Tide
by Laurie Forest
If I have to read the words “coursing through her lines” one more time I will scream.
Eighteen POV’s? EIGHTEEN??? And not a single one of them was Diana’s. What a massive letdown. This series had so much potential.
How are we four books in and Elloren still can’t access her powers? I’m tired. I just wanted to see her flambé Fallon Bane. I couldn’t care less about Vogel.
The message of this book was so heavy handed it lost most of its meaning. Racism can exist in any culture. There - I said in six words what it took Forest 500+ pages to repeat over and over and over again. Like, really? The world is burning, and these ancient Dryads are still whining about blood purity? Can we get to the point?
The tree’s name was III. What does that even mean?
I’m sorry, but I just don’t care about the side characters. We get more time with Mora and Elloren’s random professor than we do with Yvan this book. That’s insane to me.
The beginning and end were mostly tolerable. The middle was agony. Not sure I’ll be finishing this series :/
