Another text I read for a seminar at university. It was honestly a lot of fun. I liked that Fantomina was just as horny and (maybe even more) scheming and deceitful as her "love interest" Beauplaisir (a stupidly funny name given that he's literally just Some Hot Guy she fancies). It's definitely not without its flaws but even though
Fantomina sort of gets punished in the end
, I appreciated that she did what she did unapologetically (for the most part). Haywood's writing in this is very engaging and I'll definitely try to read more of her works.
