The romance genre isn’t one I tend to gravitate towards, but I wanted something lighthearted to listen to on audible while at work and came across Hani and Ishu’s Guide to Fake Dating.
I was surprised with how much I enjoyed it! I loved learning about Bengali and Muslim culture, and could relate to Hani’s struggle towards convincing others the validity of her bisexuality. Most of all, I loved Ishu, who has been the most relatable character I’ve ever read. Kicks the “misunderstanding” trope in the butt, love her.
The ending was slightly anticlimactic, but I understand this is a realistic feel-good novel, and I can keep my love for dramatics and flair at bay. 5 star romance book, 4 stars for anyone who isn’t a romance enjoyer :)
