This was dark in the subjects it touched on but it wasn’t dark in vibes. A lot of fucked up things were discussed and happened to the characters off page but the story itself was not really dark.
The FMC was ok, the exploration of the relationships between the 4 of them was interesting but this was overall not enough for me.
That andI think West in particular should’ve groveled way way way more than he did. He fucked up just as much as the other two but that comment at dinner when they finally got Lily to talk to them?!
My favorite part of the story was when the characters were broken up. That’s when I felt the writing was at its best and I felt the most for the characters and was most invested in the book. Alas, it was short lived as was my interest.
