Alles was ich nicht erinnere by Jonas Hassen Khemiri

3.0

3,5 stars because it was good, but not as good as expected.

I really liked the style of this book. The story is told from many characters splitted in small paragraphs, changing the Pov everytime.
At the beginning it was a bit confusing and I had to reread the first two pages. But I liked how untypical and "have never seen a book like that" it was.

For the next point I want to quote sth, a reader said about 13 reasons why. One point, why he don't think this book should be so hyped and loved (he had really good arguments, it was very interesting to read) is that, the main character was Clay but it was about Hannahs story. It didn't fit.

Here, it's different. We have the story about dead Samuel and the intentions why the story is told, is because of him. But we meet him through the person and get a glimpse who he (or she) is. The book is getting the point: People aren't just black and white. The good girl going on demonstrations against racism can be selfish and jealous. The hard guy who's earning his money with Violence can care for another person.

My favorite parts are the beginning because it was so new and I enjoyed a book written in the way it was here, also the last part (I only know the german as I read the german translation of this book) it should be sth like "The me (Part 2)". The two Povs and the fast change between them, also the content was a fast paced read.

But what bother me was the middle thing. The stories themselves were interesting but it got dragging at some point, because it felt like nothing happens. That's why it was hard for me, to feel something. The characters annoyed me there often and I just wanted to reach the end of the book. (Still wanted to know how the end will be, so that's a good sign, I guess.)

I also liked the notes of thanks. No drama, so short and simple. It was funny.
