I should have DNF'd this but I had to know how Constantine was going to land the plane. To be frank, the plane crashed. No one spoke like a normal human the entire book, everyone was an exposition machine. The twist is only shocking because there is nothing to back it up
allegedly Whit is poisoning Sloane's food but we don't have a single scene of him preparing her food? It's literally always Athena or Doris
. Truly an atrocious read and I could not recommend it to anyone in good faith. Was hoping this would be a better Verity as I hated Verity and it was not. This book could maybe have been compelling
if told only through Athena's perspective with full knowledge of her role as an FBI agent
. So many random side characters are given names and back stories for literally no reason. The multi perspectives was the final nail in the coffin, I feel like this has ruined modern story telling.
