Murderland: Crime and Bloodlust in the Time of Serial Killers
by Caroline Fraser
adventurous
challenging
dark
medium-paced
Almost unbearably bleak to read, I can’t imagine what it must’ve been like to research and write. A catalogue of unimaginable human cruelty (well, male cruelty), which, the author contends, was at least partially born from a Petri dish of rampant capitalism despoiling the environment. Somehow, Fraser has forged an almost compulsively readable book, but one which is full of despair.
