Possessive Park Avenue Prince by Ella Frank, Brooke Blaine
4.0
3.5 stars, rounded up to 4 - I’ve been crossing my fingers hoping that we’d get a Daire and Gavin pairing in one of these books so I couldn’t want to start this one! But, even though it’s full of tropes I enjoy, I found myself wanting more romance between these two.
Gavin Truitt is the youngest of the Park Avenue Princes and probably the sweetest of the group. He seems like a bit of a pushover at first, but once we get to know him, we finally see the hidden snark and strength he has. After a bad breakup and his brother falling in love, Gavin finds himself with a new roommate…the bad boy of the Princes, Daire Connery. Daire is such an enigma - even his best friends don’t know much about the real him beyond his growly, angry persona. There’s so much he’s hiding under that scary exterior and so much hurt and there’s only one person he lets see who he really is - Gavin.
These two have a pretty contentious relationship for a good portion of the book, something I was surprised about and wished wrapped up a little faster than it did. All of the angsty pining was a little much and I feel like I didn’t get enough of their falling for each other on the page. Once they finally did get together for real, I enjoyed it so much - Gavin helped Daire see that he was worthy of so much more than he allowed himself and Daire brought out a feisty side of Gavin that was really needed. I only wish there was more of them falling in love and less of them fighting what they really wanted.
Really looking forward to more Park Avenue Princes…Travis and Caleb are for sure happening eventually but I can’t wait to get my hands on East’s story!
