So lovely. I'm really glad I started this series.
This third book was a bit darker than the previous ones, with Rain's ghosts getting more restless and dangerous. It was still packed with good humor and lots of romance and Rain, as usual, shines: he's a fantastic protagonist, a hilarious smartass with a soft side, in desperate need of a crash course on communication skills.
I loved how much his relationship with Danny progresses here and some of their more romantic scenes made me nearly weep. They're perfect for one another and the way they are together, a mix of easy familiarity, playfulness and deep care, never ceases to make me soft inside.
The mystery at the centre of this novel was very different from the previous ones: Rain's dealing with a terrifying serial killer and the stakes are definitely up for all of PTU. And that ending, BOY. I already desperately need the next book. I'm both scared and excited.
