The Handmaid's Tale by Margaret Atwood

5.0

Beautiful. Atwood does not waste a single word. Every syllable matters and progresses a well thought out and complex society that is eerily familiar. This is not a book you skim or just pick up casually. You have to be ready to engage with the text, get into Offred slightly disjointed narrative and read beyond what is on the page. And yes, yes, I know this a Hulu series now, but I wish I had read it a long time ago.
