This book was wonderful!!! The world-building was really cool, the story and writing were really fun and enjoyable and the characters! THE CHARACTERS! They were so lovable and the character development in this was fantastic. Every single one of the main characters were fleshed out and I really loved them. They were all very different but also so alike in the sense that they were kind, curious, funny and loving. I found myself smiling while reading several times because they were all so cute. I love me a found family story.

The book did feel like it was intended for someone a little younger than me (lol) but that did not stop me from enjoying the book, it is good for everyone. But I do think that this could be a really good read for younger people as it did tackle some real-world problems with prejudice and trauma etc in ways that were really easy to follow, while also being very fun and easy to read.

Just because you don’t experience prejudice in your everyday doesn’t stop it from existing for the rest of us.

One thing I really liked in this book was that it showed that prejudice comes from adults, not kids. The kid in the shop window in the village had no problems with Talia being a gnome, it was her mother that was horrified. If adults stopped being hateful, kids wouldn't grow up to become hateful. Kids are curious and kind, unless taught otherwise.

I popped my bubble. It kept me safe, but it also kept me from living.

Also I found this super cute fanart that I just want to show you all. Look at them. My heart is so full.
