Wrath by Claire C. Riley

2.0

Other than sounding great, I figured this series would introduce me to some new authors. This is not one of them. I am not sure what I read in this one. We’re introduced to the characters as kids, and they split up when he is cruel to her. Samuel’s whole story centered on his hatred for his father and his love for his sister, Sabella. Patience was just...there. Sabella is his reason for seeking out the Elite. His mission: seduce Patience and break her heart. He hasn’t seen her since childhood. So all of a sudden, they reunite. Passion is still there. Sex. And then he’s claiming to love her. I feel like the romance part of this story came together in a chapter. There’s friends to lovers, then there was this. It’s unrealistic how it all came together. And even when fighting his task for her, his whole focus is his sister. I’m not sure if it’s the author or the story, but this one missed the mark by a long shot. Also, Wrath’s penance for sex is what Lust should have been described as. Despite his anger, this is the man we needed for Lust
