Within Reach by Sarah Mayberry
5.0
OK, I will start this by bragging a little that I managed to develop some courage and facebook messaged the author to reveal my super fandom...and she sent an autographed copy of this book to my hotel room in Melbourne when we were through visiting. Definitely a squeal moment.
I'm not sure how to capture Sarah Mayberry's books and what they mean to me in words. She just takes characters and makes them REAL...with real situations that are hard and unexpected and heart wrenching. The dynamics between her characters are fabulous, so you always feel the love and how it came to be, etc. Michael and Angie had so much to go through...something that no one ever wants to go through...and it's NOT easy. It's hard. And they fall in love and see each other differently in a realistic way...it's believable. And you root for them. It honestly feels like every time I pick up a new Mayberry book, I worry that it won't live up to my expectations...but it always does. B/c even though the characters, the situation, the setting are completely different -- they always have that heart.
