Have you ever had a moment at the end of a book where you read the last sentence and envisioned the mic drop? That was what happened with Nothing But The Rain. One of the most memorable things about this book was its pacing. The buildup to the end was something akin to a song, with the last sentence crescendoing the story. The way I dropped this book at the end was so dramatic but I stick by my reactions.

In this bleak dystopian world where the rain is never-ending, residents have been experiencing memory wipes. With every raindrop that hits their skin a memory is erased. Sometimes they come back but oftentimes the memories are gone forever. And the longer you’re exposed to the water the more damage occurs. But why are they receiving drop shipments? And why is the military shooting anyone who tries to leave this sleepy town? When whispers of a rebellion surface, Laverne has no interest. She just wants to survive. But will she remember what she truly wants?

What a wicked read. I am still reeling from it. I loved how mysterious and strange and unpredictable it was. I highly recommend this as a palette cleanser between reads because you’ll read this in one go. Thank you @tordotcompub for sending an advanced copy my way, 5✨!
