A Black Women's History of the United States by Daina Ramey Berry, Kali Nicole Gross

5.0

Black women historians Daina Ramey Berry and Kali Nicole Gross team up to tell a history from the earliest Black explorers who set foot in what is now the United States to Black women in the 2010s. They highlight specific women throughout, beginning each era with a quote and zooming in with the women we know the stories of before discussing how this affects the Black women in a broader context.

I recommend it to everyone, it has had a profound effect on me and I know I will continue to be moved and called to action by these stories and context.
