The American Roommate Experiment
by Elena Armas
After Spanish Love Deception, I'm not expecting much with this book. It's just that when I figured that Lina's best friend would somehow be the lead this time, it intrigued me that I quickly picked it up.
And I'm so glad I did. From the very start, I've well enough connected to Rosie. I like her better than Lina. And to my surprise, it is a dual POV that even if this is a slowburn and some scenes are being repeatedly talked about, it was not tiring at all!
There's also Lucas with his own backstory and depth. Not to mention, charming and so so good to Rosie. Their couple dynamics is also topnotched.
All in all, I think this sequel is a bar raised higher compared to the first book. All the concerns I've raised there was nowhere to be seen here. I feel so satisfied and truly happy. I love it. It's a surprising 5 star read for me. But I genuinely enjoyed my time here, so the book truly deserved it.
