Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone by J.K. Rowling

adventurous mysterious medium-paced

I didn't read this as a kid, and figured it'd be worth giving a shot given how big of a cultural icon it is, and how much Rowling has dominated LGBTQ+ discussions in the last few years.
It's a decent book! BUT there are so so so many parts that age horrifically (the insane amount of fatphobia and racism about Sikh men to name a few), and that's so disappointing, but I won't deny that I would've loved this book as a kid, and so, I feel for people who had their hearts crushed by Rowling's recent horrific actions.
She's still absolutely horrid, and, wow, her writing has aged so much worse than many other authors of her era. I think her time has long gone though, and so while I'm glad to have read this, I don't plan on continuing as I think I've seen enough.
