Nisei Daughter
by Monica Sone
While I really enjoyed reading this book and found it easy to get lost in the narrative, I can’t help but feel like we’re seeing the word through rose colored glasses. Even being sent to a TB sanitarium has a silver lining.
There are also some parts where people within the story are not mad with the US government for the relocation and imprisonment. It felt a bit propagandist. No-No Boy by John Okada captured a much different and contrasting experience that felt a bit more real and less (dare I say) idyllic
