The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks by Rebecca Skloot

4.5

Really intriguing and important story. I would have liked further discussion of how stories such as this influence contemporary medical mistrust in black communities. Also feel like the Lacks family should have gotten paid directly for all the info and work they supplied for this book, not just a foundation set up with an undisclosed portion of proceeds benefitting others. Would love to have an update on how things stand now, 10+ years after the book’s publication
