It’s my first regency romance and I AM NOT DISAPPOINTED.
Now I fully understand why a lot of people love historical romances, and why a lot of people adore Tessa Dare — without a doubt, this probably is the most beautiful book I’ve ever read this 2020. The words were just too achingly beautiful, I wanted to highlight the entire book (of course, that’s an exaggeration).
I love George Pembrooke, he was so lovely — especially when he didn’t know that he was being exactly that. I was so upset whenever he thought less of himself because of his appearance and his past, and I’m with Emma, I wanted to stick Annabelle with pins and needles.
For a second there though, I thought they’d get in trouble for the Monster in Mayfair issue and I was ready to shout “Nope! Sorry but this is not the drama I signed up for.” I’m so glad that wasn’t the case because otherwise, it would have honestly disappointed me.
I’m excited to read the second book, I’m hoping it will be as beautiful and entertaining as this.
