We've heard so much great about these books, but my kids were not particularly interested until an obsession with Epic the Musical left us wanting more Greek Gods content. We all loved this book! The conceit that the gods live whereever the center of Western Civilization is and are still having kids with mortals all the time just like in the old myths is fantastic, the story is engaging, and the characters are endearing.

The disability representation is incredible; I love how present and frustrating his disabilities (ADHD and dyslexia) are without making them the center of the story or depressing. It felt like a very realistic inclusion, as a disabled person, that made me feel seen. It was also was kind of fun to think of such disabilities in the context the book gives them.

I understand why these books are so popular now; they are incredibly well written and fun!
