Tomorrow, and Tomorrow, and Tomorrow by Gabrielle Zevin
3.0
I liked it, but I really don’t think it lives up to the hype. From a “finding friendship and love in the oddest places” perspective it felt real with the whole putting your friend first and loving them unconditionally but also hating their guts sometimes. Yet, everything else felt meh. First of all, most parts just dragged on way too long i.e. the author counting every tourist attraction in LA for an entire page as one character is trying to convince the other to move there (and mind you, the one the convincing is trying to be done to is actually FROM there). Then, although I do understand being obsessed with your work and work being an extension of your day-to-day life, but these people took it way too far; I firmly believe they should all be in therapy. Lastly, I don’t know if gamers would relate to it more as I’ve never been one, but I don’t think the story’s affect would change too much if it wasn’t gaming but something else.
