Real and powerful story about a Syrian girl who travels to Cincinnati with her mother to escape the brewing violence in her city. The narrator does an amazing job showing the raw emotion Jude feels as she is acclimating to a new country, new school, and new way of life. Great middle grade read but really anyone would benefit from reading this story and experience.
