Midnight Sun by Stephenie Meyer

1.0

I’ll be honest and say I didn’t expect much from Midnight Sun, but I did not anticipate it would be so awful. Not that the Twilight Saga is a timeless masterpiece, but I didn’t think it could be worse. And it was. All this did was turn red flags into flashing caution lights.

Edward spends all the time whining about how he’s a danger to Bella (after he wishes she didn’t exist mind you like he isn’t a vampire who’s been on earth longer than he should) and Rose not accepting what he was doing even after he admits he’s putting them in danger. There aren’t any real moments where I think, “Oh, poor Edward, he has it so hard.” It’s mind numbing. It actually made me wish Bella had chosen Jacob or at the very least Mike.

This should be a cautionary tale of run from the boy who stalks you and gives you whiplash with his mood swings. Oh, and tells you he’s dangerous.

I don’t recommend this book even as someone who still enjoys Twilight even though I’m not a huge fan of it anymore. As I said the saga isn’t a timeless masterpiece, but this absolutely ruins the saga. For me personally it ruined any charm Edward had.
