When the Viscount Wanted Me by Lydia Lloyd

4.0

Lydia Lloyd has long been a favorite follow for me on bookstagram. When her first novel came out, I'll admit I was worried it might not live up to the hype I'd built up in my head. No worries there - it was an easy 5 stars for me. If you haven't read When the Duke Loved Me yet, run don't walk to pick it up.

When the Viscount Wanted Me quickly cemented itself as another favorite for me. The tropes all hit the spot - older brother's best friend, reformed rake MMC, age gap (10 years, she's 22). Trem and Henrietta, whose romance was teased in the first book of the series, get together relatively quickly (and in a way you don't often see in HR) but there's plenty of plot left - though it is relatively low stakes.

Pick this up if you're looking for:
- non-traditional regency heroine
- plenty of sex in your HR
- low stakes plot
- instalove (although the characters have known each other since they were children)

I think this would be fine as a standalone if you haven't read book one, but I think you'll appreciate it more if you read When the Duke Loved Me first (doesn't hurt that book one is even better than book two in my opinion).

I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
