Radiant Sin by Katee Robert

dark emotional mysterious fast-paced

4.5

I really enjoyed this book and not just because there’s a bisexual, plus-sized heroine name Cassandra (spelled differently from my name, but close enough). Also, it seems that Apollo may be demisexual, which makes me feel so very seen.

I guess I’m a sucker for the bittersweet tension that is the “I’m falling for you and enjoying this while I can because I know this can’t last long-term” trope, because this book gave me so many feels. Is there a name for that trope? “I can’t help falling for you even though it hurts so much,” trope? I love to see characters in agonized, emotional pain, I guess.

Another thing I liked about this book is that it moves the overarching plot forward and teases future books without it feeling over-handed, or without it taking away from our main couple and their romance. For example, I was intrigued by Hermes before, but now I’m even more so. I want to know all her secrets. I hope she gets a book. We get to see so many characters interacting with each other, which I also loved. It made me want to know what’s happening behind the scenes in these people’s lives.

Overall, a very enjoyable (and steamy!) book, but I expected no less from Katee Robert.
