Project Hail Mary by Andy Weir

2.0

Im sorry im extremely salty in this review

unenjoyable, confusing, grating, boring, anticlimactic, anger inducing.

- First of all this book put me in a reading slump and took me two weeks to read....great

- I have seen so many positive reviews of this book saying its the best they have ever read and they will never read anything as good as it again. To these people i want to ask, what are you on?

- First of all i hate when people talk about science, i hate reading sciency facts with stats about things i have no reason to care about, and STEM people in books get on my nerves. So imagine my pain when i would say 95% of this book is ramble about science....Yeah i wanted to die (I wanna clear up i guessed it was a sci fi from the cover but i went into this book blind without reading the description bc i heard it was a mind blowing book that you want to go into with no precognitions, so dont blame me for picking a sciency book when i hate them)

- The main character was annoying, like ryan reynolds deadpool annoying. Tried so hard to be a self deprecating quirky scientist whos only a measley middle school teacher but he made me want to bang my head againt the wall. And when he kept messing up it was so frustrating like pleaseeee just work it out and put me out of my misery.

- Didnt really care that much for rocky he was just there. I was mainly disturbed at the fact hes like a rock with 5 legs.

- Oml every single character in this book awful and stereotyped. There was a scary boss lady who doesnt care for feelings, russian woman who "jokes" and drinks too much vodka etc. God help us if the sun does start to die if these are the people who are gonna be in charge of saving us. So unlikeable, and the dialogue was so unnatural i would have guessed the author has never left his house in his life.

- The ending. WTH was that. Appaling. all that build up for what. I clearly wasted 2 weeks of my life on this book that ill never get back. I honestly wish he just left rocky to die and went back to earth as a hero, like at least that could have maybe been interesting
