Ramona Forever by Beverly Cleary

4.0

After feeling that her parents pay Mrs Kemp to watch Ramona when Ramona is expected to watch Willa Jean and is censured whenever Willa Jean acts up and gets into trouble, Ramona convinces her parents that she and Beezus can stay home by themselves after school.

They do have a bumpy start and are doing their best not to worry their mother, as they have suspicions about why she is tired and sometimes sick. They take matters into their own hands when something happens to their cat Picky-picky.

Meanwhile, Howie's Uncle Hobart and their aunt reconnect, and suddenly there is a wedding to plan before they leave for Alaska.
