In Defense of Witches: The Legacy of the Witch Hunts and Why Women Are Still on Trial by Mona Chollet

4.5

A fantastic, French, feminist read. This book was a bit less witchy than I expected from the title, but it was an excellent exploration of the impact of the historical treatment of women and witches on modern attitudes towards and within women. It isn't a comprehensive guide, but it isn't particularly lacking in any area, either. It scratched my itch to re-read Waking the Witch while still allowing me to read something new.
