I liked the idea of this story and the beginning three quarters. The last quarter was tedious and frustrating.
The idea of individuality and oneness, totality or hive mind (the Borg) will be one that Star Trek visits in a BIG way in The Next Generation. They dealt with it a little in The Motion Picture, though it was the B plot. In a lot of ways, I wish that it had stayed a TV series and would have been able to allow these ideas to have been played out week to week.
I liked the way that the authors were able to speak through the voices of our beloved cast of the Enterprise. They were realized and fun to read.
I have mad a lot of little thoughts about my time reading. I will post them on my Kindle for public consumption (if anyone really cares).
