This one started out really strong, and I was really excited to read about a FMC on the football team. That’s one of my favorite tropes in books, with a heroine bringing down the patriarchy and playing football, but this one quickly fell off for me.
I just couldn’t seem to connect with the characters, especially after they started a friends with benefits situationship. I feel like a lot of the time in FWB romances the characters have wayyy more sexual chemistry than emotional and romantic chemistry, and imo that’s very true with this book. I didn’t really see a connection with either of our MMCs, and I was really surprised by that because this is a brothers best friend romance. Brothers best friend, especially if they knew each other since childhood, is one of my favorite tropes, and the chemistry is usually popping off the page, but I just didn’t feel anything between Riley and Zeke.
I tried to read this book first because everyone loves the second and fourth ones, but I think I’m just going to DNF this one since I’m not feeling it, and skip ahead to those.
