I really wish that fantasy authors would write a heroine that had some emotional intelligence.
I’m supposed to believe that this emotionally fragile girl is a part of an assassin trio, torturing and killing dozens of people for pay and she can’t handle someone keeping a couple of secrets from her? JFC
This could have been a solid 3.5-4 star read for me, but for the hysterical heroine. The last 30% of the book, I was yelling at her every 15 minutes and was too annoyed at her behavior to enjoy what was supposed to be the most interesting part of the book.
Also, this was far too long. I have never listened to an audiobook at 2.5x speed until now. The narrator talked incredibly slowly and I just wanted the author to get to the point.
