Marley and Me is a great read if you’re looking for a book on what not to do with a dog. Unfortunately it seems as though John and Jenny Grogan were some of the most irresponsible pet owners possible. From harsh training methods to a lack of empathy for Marley, they basically treat him like an object meant to entertain rather than an actual living animal. I finished it just to have it off my tbr list and because I enjoyed the movie and hoped that there would be a turn around.
