beautiful story of family - family spanning continents, time frames, ethnicity, race and birth right. following one woman's journey to independence, love and freedom all the way till her death, this book touches on so many different issues yet it manages to elucidate the complexities and nuances of each topic it brings up. i loved reading about eleanor's story and how she triumphed despite all the adversity and obstacles in her life. at times it felt like we were hearing too many voices and perspectives but each one was important in showing how the story wove and tied together.
