I had a bit of trouble deciding what to rate this book. It was good, won't say it wasn't, buu it seemed to me that it was splintered and could very well have been made into two books instead. You get the romantic chase first and then the dramatic chase, though they don't seem to be very much related.
As for the characters, I like them well enough but Tasia seems to be capable of doing no harm or even thinking some evil thought, leaving the rest of the charcters to appear as having rather shady moral backgrounds. I disliked how some characters only appear to forward the plot when they are needed to forward the plot, rather than being intrinsically connected throughout. Even Luke seems to have the patience of a saint emerge where Tasia is concerned, even though he's very different with all others. Second part of the book, he's not even tortured by the past anymore and his relationship with his dead wife is made to seem less important in perspective.
But looking at it from an entertainment factor, it's a good book, though I don't believe that I'll be reading the other book of the series.
