League of Liars by Astrid Scholte, Astrid Scholte

2.0

Maybe my expectations were too high but...

This book is described as "Perfect for fans of Six of Crows and How to Get Away with Murder". Nope.

Also described as "a dark and twisty mystery set in a richly-drawn world where nothing is as it seems... rife with magic, villains and danger... mile a minute action... a thrilling page-turner". Also no.

I'm just so damn sad.

Seriously, I loved "Four Dead Queens" it was awesome. The concept was original and I really enjoyed it. Ever since then, Scholte has been on my auto-buy list. Then I hated "The Vanishing Deep" and thought wtf but allowed myself to get super excited about "League of Liars" because, well, because of previously mentioned descriptions! *sigh*

Astrid has awesome ideas. Really unique and special. Every new book synopsis promises this. Execution though.... severely lacking.

I hated that I just wanted this to be over.
