Another 5 star book for me! There’s been a lot of hype about this book and for me it lived up to the hype.
Synopsis: Young and Park Woo are the owners of Miracle submarine, a pressurized oxygen chamber that treats patients with autism and other disabilities. One day there is an explosion and two people die. The story unfolds in the courtroom during a murder trial related to the explosion.
What I loved about this book:
1. The different point of views. At first I was overwhelmed by the amount of characters and the unreliability of them. However, every single one was necessary to tell the story.
2. There are so many layers to this book. The topics covered include, the sacrifices parents make to protect their children and immigration.
3. It kept me guessing! At the end of each chapter I thought I knew who committed the crime and I kept changing my mind constantly. How Angie is able to do that is so impressive.
4. What made me give it 5 stars was the journey. I had already given it the rating before I finished. I couldn’t wait to find out what happened.
5. Many aspects of the book were inspired by the author’s own experience. This took it to the next level for me.
