It took me a minute to recognize the
last act break-up
for what it was. I don't think I dislike the trope as much as I'dve thought I would, but zoomed-out, I can see how it would be annoying. I felt like the characters and their ascribed personality traits were a lot more believable than in the first book, but I'm sure a significant factor to that was having the first book to set-up and bolster all of the labels/traits the two main characters were given. I liked Hannah a lot more as a protagonist than Piper, so the book definitely had that going for it (sorry Piper but Hannah was never insufferable). Definitely some parallels to Bridget Jones' Diary.
