Witchcraft for Wayward Girls by Grady Hendrix
4.0
dark emotional sad tense

Overall, I liked it. It had some strong moments, especially at the climax.
The haunting of Wellwood's house by the witches had my heart pounding. Nice. Blame it on the media and fairytales I grew up with, but you write witches a certain way and it freaks me out.
I think Grady Hendrix did a great job on the characters. They felt nuanced and authentic to me. I had some gripes with the novel as well, however. Some more tangible, but minor, and others more on a personal level that I'm not sure would make sense to someone else or I can't put my finger quite on it yet.
