This was just really not good and does not make me want to read anything else the author has written (which I was initially curious about). The text jumps around, often in confusing ways between present and past, fantasy and reality. The writing itself is generally fine, but the way the main character talks about trans and gay people is deeply uncomfortable and difficult to ignore. I’m sure part of it is when the book was written of course but mix of condescension and disdain while using them for sex is just too much after a while.
