The Divorce by César Aira

2.0

Honestly the best part of this was Patti Smith's introduction. I liked this, but not as much as I enjoyed How I Became a Nun, because this time, I was extremely and painfully aware of the male gaze and perspective, which I had a hard time looking past. That being said, the narrative was a lot more cohesive in the Divorce, and I had an easier time following (despite reading it in bursts over a period of months). I would also like to re-read this in a single sitting, as I think his books are meant to be read.
