In Search of Monster Fish: Angling for a More Sustainable Planet by Mark Spitzer
medium-paced
2.5
rather quaint of the author to judge empoverished fishermen of the global south for fishing endangered fish while engaging on the very same practice for his own sake, and then feeling guilty about it. there's plenty of exoticism in here too, and i was very uncomfortable every time he mentioned someone who didn't speak english. so be wary of that.
a mildly interesting read, but i wish i could have gotten my hands on grotesque fish instead. the ecology part is pretty weak non-controversial stuff and there's just not enough fish facts to be interesting in that regard. so it's just a tame book you can pass some time with, and there are better reads for that
