Haunting Adeline by H.D. Carlton

5.0

I think it is safe to say that I need to feel this book in my bloodstream.

I do not know why it took me so long to finally read it. But what I know is that it will take me a while to get over it, if ever.

I love the fact that the author has so masterfully incorporated the infuriating reality of the ritualistic sacrifices of children - (do your research if you can stomach it)- within Zade and Adeline's dark and almost sick romance. The paranormal element of the haunting of Parsons Manor, as well as the cold case of Adeline's great-grandmother's murder makes the story even more chilling to go through, with enough suspense to keep you on your toes until the very end.

Highly recommended, as long as you check the trigger warnings.

The cliffhanger was unforgivable.

(Also, Zade is daddy. Fight me.)
